Prompt: Hey there. I see that you like mpreg. Anyways, prompt time. Crisscolfer already have a son/daughter that is about to turn 3 years old. When the parents learn that one of them is pregnant again, well, they decide that their first born is the one that they should tell first. For their son/daughter’s birthday, Chris and Darren have gotten him/her a big brother/big sister t-shirt. Basically, the first born is excited that they will have a new sibling. Thanks.
A/N: This is 3,387 words of CrissColfer Mpreg. Big thanks to alittledizzy for my first ever beta job and to froggydarren for the many cheerleading sessions to get this finished! Anon you are the first prompt I’ve ever gotten or written so congratulations! Sorry it took so long to fill, real life got in the way. I put my own spin on it, but I hope it’s what you were wanting. If not I’m really sorry. Quick explanation for the title. I struggled naming this one but then remembered Forest Gump’s, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know which one you’re going to get!’, and it sums up this fic perfectly! Now on with the show!
The response from their two (and three quarters) year old when asked what she wanted for her birthday was quite shocking to say the least. Chris really should have seen it coming all along, but Darren was just shocked and caught off guard, at least judging by the close proximity of his jaw to the floor. Her interest in baby dolls seemed to increase lately, while her blocks fell victim to the “no pile.” Chris had checked in on her a few nights ago and witnessed her feeding the baby and tucking the toy in to bed with a quick whisper of “time for beddy bye, go seep” with a giggle and a kiss to the forehead. This is why he shouldn’t have been so surprised when Darren asked what Abigail would like and she replied with, “A baby sister!”.
Chris had tried his hardest to avoid the subject once their baby girl was asleep and move on to other events of the day, but Darren wouldn’t have it.
“Where did she get that idea from? Have you been putting thoughts in her head? Do you want another baby? Are we ready for that? We just got settled into a routine with Abigail, how can we add another to the mix?”
Chris really didn’t know how to answer all of those questions so he just leaned in to kiss his cheek and whispered a simple, “I’m not ready for another baby. Breathe, Dare.”
That seemed to be enough to soothe the panic because it wasn’t brought back up. That and they had pretty fucking fantastic sex afterwards so if he wasn’t calm before he sure as hell was now.

Here you go!
Hot cup of coffee in hand, and walking out on to his porch early in the morning, Chris sits down next to Henry, his Basset Hound, on the seat outside. “Hey, big guy,” he says as he scratches behind Henry’s floppy ears, seeing him close his eyes in enjoyment. “You ready to meet your other daddy today?”
Henry barks in reply to Chris’ question.
It’s been eight months since Darren left him. Eight months of loneliness that resulted in him adopting Henry to fill some of the void he had at Darren being gone. But that all changes today. Today, he gets his husband back.
"Yeah," Chris says. "I’m ready to have him here, too."
I bet we don’t get any Glee bloopers because in half of them you can hear Darren shouting “DAT ASS” every time Chris walks by him.
Not sure if this qualifies as angsty, but it’s maybe close. Hope you still like it, anon.
He barely glances through the peephole for a second before flinging open his door. Throwing himself at the Marine standing on his front porch, wrapping his legs around Darren’s waist, and arms around Darren’s neck, Chris buries his face in the slope of Darren’s neck. He doesn’t care for the reason that Darren is here. As long as he’s here, he’s happy.
"If that’s not a welcome, I don’t know what is," Darren chuckles as he walks into the house.
"How long?" Chris mumbles as he holds tight to Darren.
"Forty-eight hours," Darren replies as he kicks the door shut behind him.
"Why?" Chris asks even though he doesn’t care about the reply.
"I can’t tell you. Sorry."
"It’s fine." Chris pulls back and stares into hazel eyes he’s missed for too long. "I don’t care. You’re here." Leaning forward and taking Darren’s mouth in a sweet, tender kiss, Chris doesn’t want to waste a second he has with Darren. "Take me to bed," he mumbles against Darren’s lips.
"Yes, sir," Darren laughs as he heads up the stairs.
Paint a Silver Lining
Darren’s having a bad day.
Darren is having the most awful day - sleeping in accidentally and showing up on set and getting all those looks from people, like they think he thinks he’s some hotshot diva who can fuck up all their tightly timed schedules just because he’s hung over or a lazy asshole. Darren hates it when people think of him like that. Sometimes it’s true, but he still hates knowing they all know it and it’s something he fights against.
He slinks through makeup and hair and wardrobe with that stirring in his gut and it hits him that he forgot to eat right around the time they’re doing the first run through. Any other day he’d just ask someone to grab him something he can scarf down between scenes but he already feels like such a douche for the fact that they were all waiting on him that he doesn’t bother, just steels himself for a long haul toward lunch time.
The first part to this is a few posts down on my blog. Enjoy!
Seeing piercing blue eyes he hasn’t seen in months gazing at him almost has Darren breaking down right there in Chris’ hospital room. Walking up to his bed, the room now clear of the doctors and nurses, clutching Colin, Darren wants to pinch himself to make sure this isn’t a wonderful dream he’s about to wake up from. “Chris?” he quietly says as he takes a tentative step closer to him. He’s wished for this for three months, and to finally have his husband looking at him with love in his eyes is amazing, and almost unreal to him.
"Hi, Dare," Chris replies with his scratchy, rough voice, smile spreading across his face.
"Daddy!" Colin excitedly yells as he fights to jump out of Darren’s arms.
"Hey, champ!" Chris holds out his arms for Colin after Darren sets him on the floor.
Darren watches as Colin runs and jumps on the bed and into his dad’s arms. He stares into Chris’ blue eyes locked on his as he hugs Colin close to him, kissing the top of his head.
"I missed you, daddy," Darren hears Colin tell Chris.
